Rob and Josh had spent several years writing house music with BRS and J & R Productions with releases on Labels such as Imperial Dub
& Cyclo Records
and they wanted to form a live band from which Popgang developed in January 2003.
Their debut gig was in December 2003 at The Trinity Rooms, Stroud with
Superjuice and Long Distance Runners.
30 months on Popgang have played near forty gigs, in Stroud, London, Brighton,
Bristol & Nottingham, one of the highlights being their recent gig at the
Hub Collective Night with Brakes & Actress Hands.
Popgang are about to start work on a new 5 or 6 track EP in the next few weeks as a follow up to their 'Foursides' EP which was originally only released locally in Kanes Records, Stroud. The Track titles are yet to be decided from the following working titles: 'Fix Us','Friend', 'Church', 'Scottish Youth' Some of the Gang's current live favorites & 2 brand new tracks - 'Fun' & another as yet "untitled".
