| Super, juicy treat for pop fans by Adam Horovitz Superjuice and Popgang @ Liberal Club, Stroud. Saturday 12th November, 2004 Superjuice and Popgang, two of Stroud's premier bands, are performing at the Liberal Club on Merrywalks this weekend. Superjuice are launching their EP What You See is What You Get, their first recording as a full band, at the show. Lead singer and songwriter Joe Reeve said: "This will be SuperJuice's last gig in Stroud for a while. Our next step is to get out there and seek our fortunes - or at least have a good time playing a load of gigs in Bristol, Bath and anywhere else we can get a show! "We've got a few new songs to play and we're really pleased with the EP." Both Superjuice and Popgang had a very successful Fringe Festival, playing packed and exciting gigs at the street party on Nelson Street and at Artspace. Popgang are currently working on their own EP, which will be launched some time in the new year. The gig at the Liberal Club takes place on Friday, November 12 from 8pm. Tickets are £4 on the door and over 18s only will be admitted. The bands helping to raise funds are both from Stroud. Popgang, who play "a mix of the Cure crossed with Stereolab's distant cousins", join guitar-driven melodic pop band Superjuice on stage. Superjuice will be debuting "at least two new songs" at the gig according to singer Josef Reeve. www.thisisstroud.com |
